Who has one? If so if you could only keep you Velle or it what would you choose?

I have a 2021 Mustang GT convertible. Nice car. Of course my intention is to keep my Chevelle(had it for over 20 years) and the Mustang for the rest of my days. However if I could only keep one it would be the Chevelle.

I made this decision once between my 2014 Shelby GT500 and my 68 L79 Convertible two years ago. The Chevelle won that battle. Today I have the Chevelle and a 71 Camaro SS along side with my Edge ST daily driver and the wife's 25k mile 2015 Mustang GT. Being retired and trying to minimalize expenses when I make the move to buy a E-car I suspect the ST and Camaro will go to buy the new car. The GT and Chevelle will continue on. However if the Chevelle doesn't get more reliable the Camaro SS could win. That will be a wait and see once I get the heads back and I can put a few thousand miles on her. I don't like doing heavy work on cars anymore. The GT gets great mileage and the 435net HP and being a 50 Year package can be an investment car down the road

I had a 2020 Mustang GT Performance Pack. It was a nice car, fun daily driver. I never really ‘bonded’ with it like my Chevelle. Ended up trading in on a Wrangler and haven’t looked back. I love my Jeep it’ll probably be with me for the duration.

Damn man, I bled all over my Chevelle. nolo conterndre with some sanitized but cool modern stuff. PS I am seeking cool modern sanitized stuff, I can drive IN THE RAIN and BEAT THE TAR OUT OF at the track. GIve my 55 yr old " boyfriend" a break! :) Aint the same tho. Different world to me. But hen again, I;m the guy who keeps as much original on the 67 I can so it still drives and smells like 1967.

I've been struggling with this exact question for the last year or so... With values where they are, even a beater BB/Manual Chevelle like mine would bring $20k without breaking a sweat... but my car still needs body & paint for me to be truly happy with it (and suspension, and misc other upgrades).. at least another $10-15k and likely more 10 years at my present timeline... at the same time my "usage" desires starting to not match up(really want to take it on some long-ish road trips). It will continue to eat my money and time in the pursuit of those goals...

The transmission going out this past sept may have been the death rattle for my ownership tenure... I'll have it fixed and on the road again soon, but thinking very hard about selling it this spring/summer when the sun comes out again and buying a 2015+ Mustang GT or Challenger or Camaro to replace it.

I may also pickup another 47-54 Chevy Truck to have something old to dink around with since they are still extremely cheap and easy to build- but the draw of having something nice, powerful, AND reliable to play with is becoming hard to ignore.

I don't have a modern muscle car but my buddy bought a new Skat Pack Challenger and we went on a 500 mile road trip this fall and Although the Challenger is an amazing car and I would love to own it at damn near every stop I was getting compliments on my 67. You just don't get that with a new car. The challenger will do everything better than my chevelle but I still like it.

BTW, we haven't raced yet but I'm looking forward to it.

My girlfriend has a 2014 Mustang convertible. I love the car but it never gets some "thumbs ups" as often as when we take the Chevelle. ...and then, there's my 87
Grand National... It also gets some "thumbs ups"occasionally but it'll spank my Chevelle anytime without effort!

FWIW, it's easy to buy new muscle.....and new girlfriends.
It's a lot harder to find quality, old muscle any more.
If you have a mostly original old car, you'll have a hard time finding an equal replacement down the road.

Between my ‘06 GTO and my ‘71 chevelle id have to let the chevelle go. The gto is just as fast. Way more comfortable seats, more fun to drive with the T-56, modern A/C and can be daily’d. Nothing has the same feeling as the chevelle tho. Thats why ive kept the chevelle for 22 years along with the gto for 11 years. I’ll probably go the grave still owning these 2 cars…

Okay Loophole here....
I own my Chevelle and my wife owns the new sports car...2011 Challenger SRT Hemi (no tickets)
However I also own it the Challenger, duel ownership easier to deal with if something happens to the other person....just sayin.
That said If we are going out in her car she drives and she gets the looks the honks and the thumbs up...her car...
Even if I drive she gets them...I can't figure out why?.
Have to say in this case I get to keep em both...right? ... Right?

Of Course the Chevelle and the wife... as blue_69_malibu says ...... true loves never die!

I have a 2010 Dodge Charger as my daily unless it snows. 5.7 hemi stroked to 6.4 with a supercharger. Ultimate sleeper. Doesn’t say hemi anywhere and the exhaust is quiet. I would let it go before the chevelle.

This Is a tough Call. I typically just add to the car stable. I have a heavily modified 2004 GTO (supercharger with meth injection) which is so much fun and fast. The Chevelle is just a different animal. I don’t think I could part with either one since they are both so unique.

I would keep Snow White, the 19 Mustang GT. Whats not to like about 460 ponies, and a ten speed. Quiet, absurdly fast, sirius radio.
