Can't say that I've actually used both of those tires myself, but to my knowledge, the sportsmans will last longer, but will not supply as much traction as the ET streets will provide. So I believe that it's a trade-off between the two, and your decision should be based on what your priority is (better traction, or better mileage). I also believe that the Sportman Pro would be atleast slightly better in the rain (if that will be a factor in your decision). But please don't take my opinion on that comparison as ther final word because my actual experience is more with drag radials such as the ET street radials.

Personally, I bought the drag radials (M/T calls them "ET Street Radials") for street use. They have a little bit more tread than the bias ply ET Street tires do, so I think that in the event that you get caught in the rain, while they won't be excellent on wet pavement, they still would be better. And on the dry pavement I would think that they will provide more traction than the Sportsman Pros will.

I agree.
I'm on my 3rd set of ET Street radials. They provide reasonable traction and last longer than any other DOT slick I've tried previously.
And I've tried them all...

Thanks BillyG ,Doug,Dave and Wild Bill for the fast responde ,I alway use the Sportsman PRO tires and because of the rearend of my car is narrowed I use the 31tall x16.5wide M/T sportsman PRO ,I can tell they wear out fast , This tire is very soft compound but not sustantial at the 60ft. .

I did a search looking for a ET STREET RADIAL big enough to keep the car stand and instad center where it is and the taller I can find is 315/60-15 this tire is 30in tall need a max rim of 11" I use a 12".

Seems that I need to buy a set 10" rims to use this tires

There's one other tire manufacture that offers a wider drag radial, however the height is still 29.5"..... below is a picture and a link to the M&H P390/45/15R drag radial. The rim width called out is 12" and the cross sectional tire width is 14.8" but I've never used drag radials from this manufacture, nor do I know anyone who has, so I cannot neccessarily recommend them. They might be good, or they might be bad.

I run sportsman pros on the 66 with the 4:88's on the street and track they are doing ok on wear so far but I picked up goodyear eagle 33X14.5X15 slicks for the track because with the old motor they spun three feet on the track and about 8-12ft on dry pavement so I know the new motor will be to much for them with the big gears. the size I run is in my sig. I run 14" wide rims.

I just got the M/T ET 315/60-15 Street Radials as I mentioned before MT want this tire to be mounted in a 8.5" to 11" wheel ,my wheels are 12" ,the tire will fit but , How safe they will be at the track ( 1320' ) ?

They will tend to get larger making the tire thinner ,Will they detach at high MPH ?,may be not with my MPH ,just a SAFETY question ;).

I can't vouch for the safety of that nor can I label it "unsafe" either. But I don't believe those tires will stretch a whole lot at the big end of the track. Remember, these are radials you're talking about. But me personally, I'd buy a new pair of 10" rims just for peace of mind if nothing else.

I mounted the 315/60-15 tires on the 12" wheels , very easy fit , I even like the car stand and looks better than big and wide 31x16.5 tires .

I took the ladders bars measures and even the IC got better numbers .

I will try it like it is now . Thanks you guys ,YOU ARE NUMERO UNO:hurray::beers: .

Bad news, rain coming this weekend ,not good for track test
