For 14.5:1 BBC the only one of those choices I would use is VP C12.

If you can get Sunoco Supreme (blue) that will work as well.

TrackTek 114 (green) would work also.

At just under 14:1, I've had good luck with both of the above mentioned fuels.

Older post, but I forgot about it...LOL

Does the elevation help me to use lower octane fuel such as Sunoco Purple, or TT-111 safely???

I've been using the purple, and haven't noticed any pinging, but, open headers doesn't help with detection of that?!

The TT-111 is 7 bucks a gallon, and very available....Just want to know that it will not hurt things in my engine at 5-6000 feet elevation.

Thanks,

A.........

One of my customers has used the purple for years with 13:1 and 275 to 325 worth of nitrous at 600' elevation.

If you aren't seeing fly poop on the porcelain in your spark plugs with the Sunoco Standard, keep using it. It's a decent fuel.

I do feel your elevation helps, but I would let the spark plugs be the final word on octane.
