Just lookin for some ideas here...I was gonna get a A-1000 set up, but don't really want to spend the extra money so I'll be gettin a mallory 140. I like where Vince put his in his 69 but from his pics it looks like he's got more room in that spot. Would also like to know exactly how tall the 140's are? Pics would be killer:D

I haven't fully made up my mind yet on the pump...just tired of spending that extra few bucks to have the best of each part I buy, lol! Seems like the A-1000 would be a little tougher to mount...IDK, just lookin to see what others have done!

Chad, I had plans to install a Mallory 140 gph even has one laying and also liked the place Vince used so tried if it would have fit there on my 64 and I belive it should had fit just fine.

Looked at Vince pics when I had the mallory plans and i thought the 64´s had same room there, but can be wrong?

Stock tank or fuel cell? An A1000 is a killer pump. I mounted mine with the 4 vibration dampners that come with a MSD 6AL box and it amazes most people how quiet the pump is. The bypass regulator also helps because your not straining the pump at idle at all.

The Mallory is also a great pump and if you mount it with a vibration dampner and run a bypass regulator it will also be fairly quiet.

I am going to run a return no doubt for the fact it'll last longer & run quieter...thanks for the info & I agree with ya! Been thinking on this for a while...really just lookin for ideas where guys have mounted their pumps on similar bodies.

6.5" long.

Tested it again and if you want some clearnce to the floor it will hang 1/2"-3/4" lower than the frame. Looked at Vince pic again and you may be right or it´s just the angle of the photo, but his pumps also looks to be lower than the frame but little less than what it looks when I test it on my car but hard to tell.

Mine is a 69 Chevelle but I am using the A1000. We welded a bracket with studs together that I could slide the pump on too. We then welded that bracket to the frame by the license plate. Figured a little extra weight on the back wouldn't hurt. Also makes it easy to work on. :beers:

Heres my Mallory setup on 66. I have nut plates on pieces behind where holes are. It clamps to the tank straps. Easy in & out. It is forward of tank, but inlet stays relatively low. I ordered a RobbMc pick-up today to make a few changes. I can't say about a 64/65, but plenty of room here. I would think same for 1000.

That looks really good...I would do something like that but my frame is already powercoated! I could always bolt a plate to the frame & go from there if I decide to go with the A-1000...thanks for the pics & nice work:thumbsup:

Good deal, thanks Marcus! Would really like it to not hang below the frame, I knew it would be close & yeah I gotta have some kinda clearance from the floor board...I'd hate to get that vibration all the time! My 64 is gonna sit pretty low although 1/2 inch lower than the frame aint too bad! Guess I just gotta make up my mind on which of the 2 pumps:D Thanks for checking that out!

i have a magnafuel 500 on a 64
Thanks for the pics...I had thought on that spot but wasn't too sure about cause it was pretty tight with my Fab9 housing, but I guess it all fits in there since you have the same housing or maybe a Moser...pretty much the same anyways...cool deal!
