Maybe around 6800. Shift pass peak horsepower.

If the motor peaks at 6500 set the shift light at 6500. By the time you react it may be 67-6800. Set the rev limiter for 7100-7200.

Chev-man - are you shifting to get the best time possible or the most consistent time (bracket racing)?

For best time start with 6500, but move shift points around a little until you get best ET. There could be other factors effecting ET.. like are you starving for gas at higher RPM?

I found when I was bracket racing sifting a little sooner seemed to keep me more consistent. I was also not effected as much by air pressure and humidity changes.

haha. agreed. i'm learing this as we speak. Last time at the track i went from 12.8, to 20.2 (missed 2nd gear) to 12.7, to 12.6, to 13.2 (spun bad out of the hole). of course i had my best 60ft on the one where i missed 2n. hopefully better next week after i get a set of et streets and make some adjustments. :beers:
