Does anyone know where I could possibly find a 4spd floor console for a 1965 Malibu SS? I would like to change my auto to a manual, keeping the inside of the car looking stock, but it is really hard to find the console.

Start watching e-Bay, I see them fairly often. When I found my 66 SS396 4-speed Chevelle in a barn in Nov. 2001 the console was long gone. I searched for a year and found nothing. I started searching e-Bay and within a month I bought a console that was about 100 miles from my home and I went and picked it up. The cheapest I saw a 66 console go for was around $375.00, I paid $405.00 and have a near perfect console. But shop around because I saw one go for over $700.00.

Do your homework. You better know the difference between 64 and 65 consoles or you may buy the wrong part. I looked for over a year without any spending limit for the perfect 65 console. More time times than not I found them advertised as 64-65 and they were mostly 64's. Even on Ebay this mistake was made. 65's have fine lines (grooves) to match the dash bezel. 64's have broad grooves to match the 64 bezel. Good luck.

P.S. Never did find a perfect one. Now its a bench seat car!
