I have a 70 chevelle ss with code 791 ivory/pearl interior. I’m having a hard time finding a pearl color vinyl dye. Back 8-9 years ago I see a few posts on the forum from people who purchased from year one or opgi, but I don’t think they carry it any longer. From what I’ve read, it’s a 2 part process….ivory dye then a pearl coating/dye. Can anyone recommend something?

Maybe I should call PUI and see if they have a source now that I think of it…..Ok, well if someone has a source please let me know in case I come up empty speaking to PUI.

Hinshaw has it in spray cars...both the base and pearl top coat. I've used it before.

Find a DuPont bobbed in your area and get some vinyl dye. They should be able to mix it. Still a two part process tho. Stuff isn't cheap either, but it works.

My jobber says they have a SEM mixing station so I asked about a match for my '66 turquoise interior. They claim that PPG DBC would be no different for vinyl, just use adhesion promotor beforehand. A flattened clear would be necessary also. I've also mixed base/clear and shot as a SS on small parts and had good results. IMO this would be too high of a build but I have the stuff so I'm going to try some test panels.
