i hope you ls-6 owners can give me some insight into this inquiry. i have done searches and havent come up with much. what is the story with the deep groove CRANK pulleys on the 1970 chevelle ls-6's. i am looking for a 2 groove deep groove crank pulley for a 1975 454 block i am building for my 70 chevelle,but the only deep groove items most resto places carry is for 1969-70 high performance 396's and 427's. i know these balancers are different than the 454 because the 454 is externally balanced. is the harmonic balancer on a 1975 454 block any thicker or thinner than an 1970 ls-6 one? i have deep groove pulleys for all of the accessory parts on my motor (water pump,power steering pump,and alternator) and the crank pulley does not line up at all. in fact,it is way off. finally,who carries a deep groove 454 crank pulley?

Just use one from a 396/427. Pulleys are interchangeable with all big blocks as long as they match your water pump ( long or short)

What kind of accessory brackets and water pump are you using, if you are using a long pump setup use this

Perhaps your balancer isn't bottomed out on the crank.
