I'm corn-fused? I thought that the purpose of octane was to prevent detonation? I thought that as long as your octane is high enough that the motor does not detonate, anything higher is just a waste of money?
I'm very curious about your responses. I ran Turbo Blue 116 last year because I was still playing with the timing and I was afraid detonation would hurt the motor. Now that I am getting closer to getting the timing sorted out, I am running 93 this year. I don't get to the track very often, but my last run last year was 10.55, but it was on a 50 degree day. The only time at the track this year it ran 10.80's all day, but the weather was in the mid 80's. I blamed the .25 loss on the weather. Maybe I need to run the better gas?
