Pictures will go a long way towards determining the value and assesing the condition. The more pictures the better. Inside/outside/underneath/engine compartment/trunk.

If you do a search you can find out how to post pictures. Or you could do a link to another site for the pictures. No 15k is not too much to pay for a 68 in good condition. However there are a lot of variables. Is it an SS? A real SS? If not then someone swapped in another engine which would mean it is not a numbers matching car. You are asking a very open ended question.

Brian: Here is what I suggest. Do a search here in the archives on the subject. You will find way more info on the subject than you could possibly use. Fortunately for that year you can verify if it is a true SS or a clone. The pics you submitted are very limited and don't really show much. Check out pics other people have submitted when trying to evaluate other Chevelles and you will find what you need to be looking for on this Chevelle. One thing to consider if you cant live with the colors then it will cost quite a bit to change everything over. It could be something you do over time so as not to lay out a large chunk of money all at once. Try to get yourself as educated as possible going into this thing and you'll be better off financially and vehicle wise.

It's a odd combo for sure but I like it. It's different. I don't think the true color is coming through in the pictures. Greens and golds never photo well.

Even if it was super clean and numbers matching the color combo hurts the overall
value. If the car is perfect, I think it would top out at 13-15K (to the right buyer)

It's easier to change the interior color than the exterior color. You could invest another $1k to change the interior to white and have a totally different car that would add $2K in value.

,if there is no rust all the # match just a bad color do you think thats too much
As others have stated, need many many more detailed pictures of the engine compartment, underside, trunk area, interior, numbers, etc.

Are you assuming there is no rust or know there is no rust? Many ugly things can hide behind that paint. For a good paint job with minor body repair you are looking at 10K for a complete color change in my area. Of course you could go much cheaper but in the long run a cheap paint job is like burning money.

What are your plans for the car? Daily driver or restoration? If resto, to what level?

Depending on the condition of the drive train and interior you could easily dump a truck load of money in the car with the paint job.

There are a lot of cars out there to pickup for reasonable prices. If you can't live with the color, maybe save that cash and go for a car that is what you are looking for.

l what should i check for
!st-look through the windshield on the driver's side at the VIN plate. If the VIN begins with 138, then the car is a real SS. If it's anything else, it's not an SS
