I'll tell you right now that the worst day I've ever had was last Sunday...it even topped the last "worst day" that I had a couple of weeks ago.
I'll start off by saying -insurance will take care of it and I think there is nothing too bad that actually came out if it, but the STORY is fantastic and everyone is okay!
I couldn't make this up if I tried, so here goes....100% true!
Sunday, Dec 4
6:00 am...me and 3 friends head out of town to go visit a couple of friends that live about 30 miles from us. I drove my 2004 Sebring because of the better MPG.
6:30...we arrive in the general area that we are destined to go, so I let one of my friends drive. No problem, right?
7:00...WRONG! He starts to cross this little shallow creek that runs across the gravel road we are traveling on. Right in the center of the creek, the car SINKS! All the way to the top of the hood!
7:10...I climb out the passenger side rear window so that I could get into the trunk. I'm wrestling with trying to cut the wires to both my 2 amps and subwoofers, so they didn't get wet. My friend walked who knows how far, and brought a cowboy and his 4x4 back. The truck drives right by my car, through the creek-no sweat.
7:45...Cowboy pulled the car out of the creek with a chain after my one friend got into the COLD water and hooked it to the rear.
8:00...Amazingly, the car STARTS! We all pile in, (after opening the doors and having water and trash pour out) and set off...back HOME! (I was through!)
9:00...we are still driving. I didn't drive into the backwoods that we were in, so I wasn't sure how to get back out. They were no help, as they were lost coming in. Water was sloshing around the floorboards every corner we turned.
9:30...I am trying to find out where we are, so I turn around in the seat to ask the guy in the back, and when I looked forward again, I am headed straight for a cliff. I turned the wheel toward the road, but the car slid in the gravel turnout, and slid right of the side. It rolled 1 time and came to rest on a small group of young oaks, upside-down.
9:31...we got out of that car and back up to the road real quick!
9:35...as we stood there and looked at the bottom of my car, laying in the trees, I said, "Well, that's one way to drain the water."
9:40...started walking back to town.
11:30...finally made it to civilization, where my dad drove down and picked us up, after I called him on my cell.
12:00 noon...tow truck bill, $350.
It doesn't end there, oh no......on the way home in my dad's car, his transmission burned up. All of a sudden, no gears worked. So, I called my brother on my cell, and on his way down to pick all of us up, (my dad included) his mini-van overheats....AAAHHHH:sad:
Later in the evening, I drive my truck and my trailer down to where the tow truck left my car, and my truck battery died while we loaded the car! AAAHHHH
But you know what was cool? After the car had been submerged in water and rolled off a cliff, I STILL started it and drove it onto the car trailer!
Yes, Sunday was a very bad day. But, I think the insurance will cover the car, no one was hurt, and I'll look back on that day a few years from now and laugh my a** off. I hope..
