Used Eastwood's Tank Tone on my tank...It is a silver color, and, went with black straps. Very happy with the results...
What to use to paint gas tank
A lot of my car is far from original, as well as far from 100% cloned, but thats the way i want it, hence the reason i call her the Malibu SS Custom 
One of the first things i did when i got the car, with the under carriage was wire brush everything and undercoat. But now, going to all of the cruise ins, the silver gas tanks do look good to me. Much cleaner looking.
Now, once again, i'm not after originality, so what could i use? I was looking into Silver POR15, and leaving the straps black?
any other method?
