While searching post on 70/71 idiot light harness I started seeing problem that have come up with ac and non ac harnesses. What should I be looking for to make sure I get the right one. I have a non ac car (70).

A non A/C dash harness will have the connector for the blower speed switch along with the wiring and connector for the speed resistors and a wire, orange, from the speed switch to the bulkhead connector. The speed resistor connector is usually white and has yellow, orange and ltblue wires.

Also on a 70 heat only harness the top fuse on the right side of the fuse block will be marked as TCS only the A/C harness will be marked A/C TCS. This doesn't apply to the 71 harness, which will also work in a 70.

The dash harness for an A/C car won't have the orange, blower power feed, wire that runs between the blower speed switch and the bulkhead connector, also it won't have the speed resistor wiring and connector for the controls.

You can remove the wiring from your old harness and add them the A/C dash harness.

If it's a harness for a gauge dash it is built to work with either application, heat only or A/C.

Only the harness that is for the gauge option, Tach, AMP, FUEL and TEMP gauges.

If it is for the Monte/SS cluster that has indicating lights and came from a car with A/C it will not have the wiring needed for heat only.
