I am restoring a 69 chevelle that has dummy lights, but when I removed the gauge cluster several of the light sockets were already brocken does anybody have some of these or know were I can purchase some, It looks like the only thing wrong with the sockets is they dont have the metal barbs that hold the into the cluster.

Any help would be great.

If they are the regular twist in style (goes in and turns 90 degrees) then I recommend changing them to LED's and you can get the bulbs with the sockets from superbrightleds.com

American Autowire sells complete replacement sockets. part #500127 for $6 each.
If the sockets have a gray wire, then they're for the dash illumination, and use a 1816 bulb.

$6 a piece for those sockets? i used to have a big bag full of them from all the cars i parted out..
i think i'd be hitting a junkyard and getting however many i needed for a buck or two before paying that much for one of them.

I wish I lived where you did, where apparently there are old GM cars in wrecking yards all around you. :) That's not the way it is around here, or probably most other places in the US. The closest place to me that might have anything like this in his yard is a 60 mile round trip, and he's not open on weekends. So, that means 1/2 day off workand 6 gallons of gas at $3.50 per will be $21. Then I'll have to schlep around in a field, slide under a dash with God knows what kind of critter poop or other nastiness in the floor and dash, pry out the bulb sockets and hope that they aren't too corroded to work when I install them.
To me, $6 apiece for a new part, delivered to my door is well worth it.
I'm just sayin'.:p

actually, there are plenty of older cars in junkyards around here.. one of them has about 30 acres of old GM, Mopar, Ford, and AMC stuff from the 50's to the 80's. that place is like heaven. i live about 130 miles from it now, but it was one of my weekend hangouts when i lived 4 miles away..

This is what would make it worth the 60 mile round trip for me. I love doing this stuff  Usually I can pick up a few extra parts (stainless trim is one of my favorites), to sell to other guys, that will pay for my gas and the parts I need.:beers:
