There is a green wire coming from i think the firewall and it goes over the fender well on the driver's side and i have a wiring diagram but i dont know how to make it out?? Oh, and the reason i'm asking is it is disconnected and my old chevelle had the same wire and it was disconnectes! LOL, just curious! Thanks

The year sorta helps. Green is used for the TEMP sender wire. That might be it.

Sounds like the wire that connects to the temperature sending unit in the driver's side head.

Oh, sorry, i always forget those details! Its a 71 chevelle with a 350. I dont think it's for the temp sending unit but here are the details that lead me to that conclusion: its a dark green wire, kinda thick, but it has like a connector at the end and then a black wire comes out of the other side of the connector. Its hard to explain! Oh, i'll put up a pic. LOL, but i dont have a pic host so i'll post a pic to my myspace!! (LOL, its a kid thing!) thanks for the input!

Yea, thats probably it! Cause it has the air conditioning out-fit but it doesnt have the compressor. Thanks! Oh, and the black wire that comes out the other end- is that a ground? Thanks again!

Yes the black wire is a ground. It should have a large serrated eyelet on it that bolted to the compressor frame.

I think that may be for the horn? Test it to the green wire that is at the radiator support

I agree on the A/C compressor IF it's a green and a black together.

Otherwise I say it's tail light wire (j/k of course)
