Ok, I know '70-'72 Elkys and Montes have disc brakes/spindles that will interchange with a '71. And I'm sure the other A bodies share the same as well. Too bad they're becoming hard to find for parts.

However I was curious if the disc brakes from '73-'77 Malibus/Montes/Elkys would fit a '71 Malibu?

What about '78-??

Are there any other GM models with interchangable disc brakes?

My Malibu has a power brake booster, so I guess I'll need a new master cylinder....are there any other parts I'm forgetting?

Is this info available somewhere else, or is it still just in that thread? It covers most of all the "which fits what" questions here, so it would be great to have a link to it somewhere in the brake forum. Like a big, red, flashing button saying: "If you want to convert to disc brakes, click here first!".

BTW, when I was working on my latest conversion, I was thinking about taking pictures and writing a simple step-by-step description of how to do a basic, OEM style brake swap, list the tools needed, share some BFH techniques etc. There's nothing much to it, but it might be helpful to those who haven't done it before. I didn't know where to post it, so I didn't. I might do it next time though.
