i would like to sell my 12 bolt rearend. its a date coded 70-72 not sure what size ring gear. i know its a open carrier. its still in car complete. what could i get for it?

I might get laughed at but I would guess $200-$300 tops. I only say that because I've bought a couple of 12 bolts with 3 series positraction cariers in them for less than 200 and one bare housing with axles for $75. That was a few years ago and maybe I just got lucky.

wow i guess u got lucky. i had a 12 bolt in my 70 chevelle i sold about 1 1/2 year ago and i got 1400.00 for it. i sold it locally.

You sold an open 12 bolt for $1400? I had a 4.10 posi '70 12 bolt on Craigslist until the ad ran out for $850, and it never sold....

I recently bought a 69 peg leg 12 bolt with 2:73 gears for $300, and I also bought an empty 12 bolt with just bearing caps and cover for $100.
I have another 69 12 bolt with series 4 carrier 4:10 gears, c-clip eliminators that I think it would be hard to get $1400 for!

Not sure about yours, but I bought my '70 MC 12 bolt posi about 20 years ago for $80 and I'd bet I could get a grand for it now.

no its not pitted id even give u a deal for 400.00 i will give u the rearend and a set of rear crossmember supports made out of 4130 chrome moly that have been sand blasted and power coated gloss black. and if u want i know a guy that will sand blast it for 50.00
