The intake and exhaust push rods are different lengths. There are adjustable length pushrod checkers out there, but when I was looking for them there wasn't a single checker with a length range that would allow you to buy just one that could be used for both intake and exhaust. I ended up making my own out of a length of threaded rod, a turnbuckle and a couple of nuts to act as jam nuts.
What length pushrod checker do I need to buy?
Gen VI 454, Crane tall body lifters, 781 heads (rebuilt with Ferrea valves that might be longer than stock). What length pushrod checker do I need to purchase so I find my correct pushrod length? Do I need one checker for exhaust and one for intake or will there be one length checker that will work?
