I saw the autolifter post and though maybe all of the lift owners could give everyone their opinions.

I have the Bendpak MX10AC, Its a two post assemetric lift. Got it from http://www.asedeals.com/ Free shipping and it came with the truck adapters.

I love the lift, only downside is that the pump 'should' only be mounted on the right side post. I've been able to make it work from the left side with only minor mods, but it was a learning experience.

I've had to make two calls to Bendpak since getting the lift and the service was great.

Rotary (low rise) It only goes up about 40 inches, just enough to put the tires at chest level on me. Perfect height for brake jobs, etc, but under-car stuff is tricky because the lift is in the way. My ceiling is only 8' 6", so a high-lift unit is not an option.

$900 (used, but delivered to my garage) from my former employer.

My plan is to attach some casters to it, so I can roll it out of the way, perhaps even store it on it's side, to clear some floor space when it's not in use.

MJRIBEIRO,

Thanks for that link... How hard was it to unload off the truck?

Any comments on the D-7 (7000# four post with casters, drip trays and jack plate and free shipping for $1900-reg price, call for sale price)... I am not made of money, so a lower priced lift would be nice (it would cut into the Chevelle budget)...

Any comments on having this permanently outside (maybe in a canvas tent in winter)?

I have always wanted a two-post, but I already have concrete in (just 3.5" + with WWF)... Figured a four post would be a little more convenient for most stuff I will do, and since it could sit/roll around on my existing pad without problems... About $2200 (with tax and residential delivery), not too bad...

Tony - You need a forklift to get one of these off the truck. I suggest having it sent to the trucking company's terminal - where they will fork it onto your trailer. (bring a flatbed car trailer with you).

I'd like a four post as well, mostly for storage. I feel the two post is more useful, you still need jacks to change a tire on a four post. Some of my friends have these because they don't have enough ceiling height in their garage.

As far as outside goes, I've seen plenty of them outside. I think they just require more upkeep. Mine's just painted, and the fastners are not stainless, so I'd expect some rust.

As far as the concrete floor depth, just rent a saw and cut out two 36" squares, dig down another inch or two and repour. Mine only required 4" of concrete - I have 8-9 under the posts, but I'm a fan of overkill.

I think I paid 2200 delivered, last year.

MJRIBEIRO,

I just bought the HD-9 lift with the casters and JP-6 jack tray. I also ordered the 318 VL air compressor from ASEDEALS. Many a years on gravel and jack stands. I ran into the same problems with paying the $40 to have them shipped to my home (no fork lift). Also, there wasn't a local trucking yard here in Prescott to unload it at (the didn't have a fork lift). So, the closest yard for me was either in Phoenix or Flagstaff, both of which are about 100 miles away.

Being that I work for the City of Prescott, I was able to work out a deal with the Chief Mechanic. Now both items will be delivered to the City Yard where there is a fork lift. You might want to figure out how you are going to unload-reload the lift. The thought of renting a fork lift or backhoe for the day would of cost as much as I was going to save. You can also pay another $120 (plus your $40) and a truck with a lift gate will bring it to you, but you still have to unload it.

Hopefully I can let you know in a few days how it all turned out.

Hoss
P.S. The only way I was able to get the lift is that my wife is a R.N.
She has helped harvest organs from 2 different people that had jacks and jack stands fail.

von,
yes, it is the pro park 7.
i picked it up used. 2 yrs.old for $900.00.
i use it only for storage, as i am not to keen on their locking mechanism.
i use the BB for any and all maintenace work.
if you are going to have only one, get the BB.
