Guys, I'm new to this forum and have recently gained access to what I believe to be a nice find, a 69-70 Chevelle. What year exactly? I don't know, that’s where I need your help. This car has all the makings of a 69 but has the build of a 70. Is it possible to be a last or mid run 69 sold as a 70? If possible can someone lead me to a place were I can find info on this? See Pics.

Its possible someone painted the car to look like a 69 but if it has the sheetmetal of a 70 then it its a 70.

Welcome Bennie.
There are no such thing as "cross over" cars. If the Vin is 136379. then its a 69. If its 136370. Then its a 70. Check to see if the Cowl tag matches the Vin as far as production year.
If it looks like a 70 but has the 9 in the vin. There is the posibility that its a stolen 70 that someone swapped a 69 vin on to sell.
Be very Cautious with this one. If possible, Post some pix of the car, Vin and cowl tag.

do a quick google to tell the differences between a 69 and 70- they are really hard to confuse with each other.

This car has the look of a 69 SS car but is registared as a 70 car, I was told there was a mid year biuld. I have seen mid year builds in other makes like the Mustang and Camaro but not sure about Chevelle. I do have Pics of the car, but there stuck in my phone, as soon as I can get them out I'll post them.

what does the VIN # say.

It is possible that its a one owner vehicle, and the owner who bought it new- did so in early 70, still new on the lot- and it was registered as a 70, even though its really a 69.

Are you confusing build dates with year / model?

69 is a 69 - 70 is a 70 and appearance wise are different animals and its pretty easy to tell them apart.
