on a points system,what is the little thing with one wire?to be more exact it looks just a condenser and is mounted on the coil bracket.is this a radio suppresor or something else

I agree with the other Fred. Car will run OK but you may not like the ignition noise on AM radio. Or don't you young guys listen to AM?
