Don't know about the alternator.... but the front seats look like they came out of a '67 GTO/LeMans.... Hood looks like a repop too..

I thought the last time he posted it up he called it like a machine gun barrel or something like that. I just never saw anything like it and was wondering what it was if you look close it almost looks like there is a rubber plug of sorts coming out on the side not the rear towards the drivers side fender then it looks to go to a cobbled up wiring harness with lots of electrical tape.

With a/c the standard alternator is upgraded from the 37 ampress unit to the 61 ampress unit (K76). In 1966 there was a further upgrade available with or with a/c, the K81 alternator. I don't know the specs other than it is a 62 amp peak output. I suspect it is also a high idle charging rate, designed for high load.

That car belonged to one of our club members who had owned it for years, the alternator is an extra heavy duty deal and there was two spare alternators with it. The car was loaded and had some special-heavy duty ignition system also.

He had to leave town for a better job and couldn't take it with him so another club member bought it and kept it in his indoor collection for quite a while then sold it for $5,500.00. That buyer evidently was a flipper and sold it for $8,500.00 right away and I think buyer #3 also sold it and now buyer #4 has it for sale.

You can see it (kinda) trying to hide in this picture.

I posted quite a bit of info about this unusual and fairly rare alternator, in that discussion thread a few months ago. Yes, this is a legitimate and correct piece...including in particular the special BB upper alternator bracket exclusive to this alternator. (Yes, the bracket too is different than the small frame Delcotron.)

Can't say it came on this car, but it was a definite available option in 66, and apparently not often ordered.

Yeah...what with the advances in the high current rectifiers now common in small frame Delcotrons as well as electronic regulators, it would have to be a serious concours build situation before I would go this route.
