I am trying to track down a possible igition problem and would like to know:
What is the range of permitted resistance for plug wires and plugs themselves?

My wires range from .591k to 1.238k (on the 2k ohm meter range) and the plugs from 3.38k to 5.07k (on the 20k ohm range).

All comments are appreciated.

gm performance wires are rated at 600 ohms per foot. i foget the plug resistance but your numbers sound good. compare them to a new plug.
when does the problem occur?

Thanks for the replies.

I have Taylor 8mm and AC Delco R43XLS plugs.

The problem was noted on my dyno run where the HP curve was not a smooth line, but rather a squigley line - through the whole RPM curve, like one cylinder was misfiring or something.

I guess I should look at my coil next? Is there a way to check that? HEI, Accel supercoil. Any suggestions are appreciated.
