I know that this is a little bit open ended, but in your opinion, what is the single best muscle car. Whether it be a perfectly restored chevelle, an old race car, a new race car, or a street machine?

In my opinion, hands down, the best muscle car in the world has to be the 71 Cuda built by the Johnson Hot Rod Shop. It has a dry sump, 572 inch, all aluminum Hemi, with a pile of nitrous I think too. It had a one off custom tube chassis, with the independent rear suspsension from a viper, and a ton of state of the art suspension pieces. Along with countless body modifications. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that the body was hand made, and that their isnt actually any 1971 Cuda in that car, but still, its sweet! The wheel/ tire combination is perfect, and fills the fenders prefectly, and all of the aero mods, and slight touches to the original design are all done so flawlessly.

I remember seeing it in magazines a few years ago, and even by todays standards, it is still one of the best designed and built muscle cars I've ever seen.

1966 AC Cobra... Saw a show the other day, a 66 Cobra against some of the best cars that sema people could build, and the 66 Cobra was pretty much a monster in every catagory. Fast, Quick, Handling, Stopping, it was first or second in almost every test they could throw at it....

I am not impressed by this Cuda, in fact I think one of our club members Chevelle is nicer. Frank Stone of the Peach State Chevelle club here in Georgia has a yellow 72 convertible that is one heck of a modified Chevelle.

I dunno, the Cuda never did it for me, I'm not even sure you can really call it a muscle car, it's more of a pony car along with the Camaro and Mustang. Muscle cars have full frames in my books. So I would have to say that for Chevrolet it's the 1970 Chevelle, for Dodge it would be the 68-70 Charger, and Ford I really have no idea...

I couldnt even begin to come up with a list to answer this. If it rides and handles nice, looks good and runs good. Its cool with me. Body style doesnt totally matter, I like most muscle car body styles anyway.

1964 Pontiac GTO, like it or not it was the first small body big engine muscle car.

Delorean wanted to stick the 421 in it but the big guys said no. It started the go fast in a straight line use both feet on the brake pedal to stop it era.
