Got me a 350 horse 396 10.5 to 1 compression oval port heads lunati cam (not stock but not radical)edelbrock performer intake, q-jet hei and holley mechanical fuel pump fuel pressure goes between 7-9 ibs. or psi (whatever) to much? to little?thanks wildbill
When I raced my Q-jet at the track I would set it as high as 10psi. This was at a cold, static (motor off) setting. Comp 140 pump/filter.
Notice that if you set it at say 8psi, when you goose the motor and drain that little fuel bowl in a hurry, the needle will drop to about 5-6psi. So you have to compensate for that or you just may nose over on the big end of the track.
BTW. a 350HP 396 motor does not have 10.5:1CR and do let us know if you get soem track numbers for that combo!
