Looking in the Jegs catalogue, they give me too many choices.

4.54 bore .041 thick steel
4.54 bore .051 thick steel
4.37 bore .039 thick copper
4.54 bore .039 thick steel
4.37 bore ..039 thick steel
4.63 bore . 041 thick steel

I can use more compression for my motor as it runs on #2, really runs well on #1.

1027 or 1037 Marine/performance gasket.

4.370" bore, .039" thick. Use the steel fire ring for iron heads, the copper fire ring for aluminum heads.

I've used them for several seasons now with no issues what so ever. I prefer the smaller bore to keep compression up so long as the fire ring is not exposed by the cylinder head chamber size.

Often the aftermarket heads have larger chambers which require the larger bore gasket. All depends on what head you have.

There is the shim gasket by GM # 14015351 .022 compressed. They have been discontinued but may be some laying around in dealers. Mr Gasket 1131which are shim and about the same thickness, but I had serious fitment issues with them on my 496.
