I wouldn't call it a rare block. If the original car was found that the block came from, it might be worth something to that person. Otherwise it's just another engine block.

From the sounds of what you want (600 HP), you would be better off selling it and getting a bigger block. Think 496 to make reaching your HP goal easier to attain.

As Brad said above, it would be worth more to the owner of the vehicle ,or someone wanting to clone a "correct" vehicle.
Other than that ,if you dropping an engine in a non-matching vehicle ,most folk's go for the cubes as it doesn't cost that much more to get 496 inches these day's.
You might post the info in the 'what's it worth' forum and see if there's any takers.
Also ,Dale has an 'orphaned part's page' on his Chevelle site for people trying to reconnect the 'dot's'.

300 thats all wow seriously it said on the internet that the 350hp were more rare and i was thinking around $600 to $800
First, the 350 HP may be more rare, but its still not really "rare", there were THOUSANDS built... Secondly, the 325 HP and 350 HP used the SAME block, so there is NO rarity difference. The ONLY difference in the blocks, is the code (JC) stamped into it. But then again, there is also the VIN for the original car, so unless you have the car with a matching serial number, its just an ordinary 396... You can't get rid of the VIN without decking the block, which also will remove the "JC" stamp...

Then there are the Camaro/Nova/Impalas that also used the same block...

Now IF the buyer KNEW it was a good block, or there was a guarantee, then maybe you could get a bit more money...
