Anyone know what happened to these two?
They used to post quite a bit in the performance section.
I was just curious if anyone knew what they were up to with thier cars.
Last I remember motor martry was heavy into suspension work and 66 283 was redoing his '66 chevelle.

Well brian got fired/let go from adams shop a while before Adam's untimely passing. But i don't know the whole timetable Of when he sold his car vs Adams death. What i've heard and seen with my own two eye's is that he was more interested in fancy watches, clothes and coupe devilles(picture a skiny wiseguy wannabe on the soprano's). Anyway the kid did have talent as a welder/fabricator, but got too caught up in internet drama. Tough path to choose when you voluntarily come to ed's (1320racer) aide and get caught up on his side of the shyte storms he has been know to stir up.

I don't know anything about the other fellas mentioned...

I know this must be old news to many of you, but can anyone briefly explain what the cause of Adam Landolfi's death was? I never did hear exactly what happened to the man. I spoke to him on the phone once, and he seemed knowledgeable to say the least. His Green 71 Chevelle had to be the hardest and best launching A-body car I have ever seen. Was his death race related? And if not, does anyone know whatever happened to that Chevelle of his?

That thing rode the single wheelie bar he had on it hard for 70' down the track, and straight as an arrow too. I've never seen a 10 second car launch like that before in my life. The way it launched ALMOST made Bob West's car look boring! And the way Bob's car hooks, that's sure saying a lot.

I think billyg still has me on ignore, but Adam had a heart attack, if i remember correctly, they fond him sitting in a chair at his shop. I beleive they found him the next day when they came in to open the shop. He was definatly cut short...

No Rick, I don't. Thanks for explaining what happened to Adam. Gee that really sucks. Did you ever get a chance to see his car being raced at Englishtown? Wow, that thing sure hooked like crazy.

The car was at Maple Grove for the Nationals looking the same as it did 5 years ago. I don't know who was driving it though.
Ray, do you know what kinda ET's the driver was turning with it? Just curious, cuz it was in the 10.4's when I saw it a few years ago, but I had the impression that the driver was sandbagging it, because it sure seemed like the car was capable of low 9's the way that it was launching. But I dunno if that was only because it had Alf's rear suspension set-up in it, or not. Alf had once told me over the phone that Adam's Chevelle also had extensive work done to the front end to get it to launch the way that it did in addition to having his rear suspension in it, but he didn't go into detail.

The car always was a mystery as far as I know. But all I do know for certain is that it launched harder than I ever saw Ed Bigely's car, or Bob West's car launch. And both those cars were always impressive to me. Maybe Adam's car had/has a transbrake. Although I dunno if that would be alowed in the class/classes it ran in. I say that, because when I saw the car being run, it was pretty obvious that although it was turning the same short times that Bob's car turns (1.33's) it would've easily been on the rear bumper every single run if Adam didn't have that wheelie bar on it. It just wasn't what you would usually see a car doing when merely trunning 10.4 second ET's. It sure wowed the crowd.

The launch Adam's car exhibited wasn't the typical pop & drop kinda launch that you see some other 10 second cars doing,(like Ed's and Bob's cars do) but was a nose-up reach for the sky-stay on the wheelie bar for 70 feet launch like it wanted to rip the wheelie bar right off of it's welds launch. And he did have the wheelie bar set pretty high.

Nope still running 10.40's. It is very common for stock eliminator and Super Stock cars to 60' like crazy. They are rule limited and look for every little bit. I remember talking to someone with a 71 454 chevelle in SS/EA that was running 9.60's and 60' time around 1.24. But no, Adam's car does not have a trans brake in stock eliminator. That was foot braked.

The last post I saw from Brian was on Team Camaro and he stated he fell madly in love with some girl and lost interest in cars. At the time he planned on keeping the Camaro and just letting it sit until he got the itch again. Sounds like he sold it according to Rick. Hopefully he was smart enough to hang on to the car.

Thanks for your insight. Although I am very aware of those two race classes, I don't know a whole lot about the rules for them. For instance, I knew about some of the limitations and restrictions placed on them like what cylinder heads can be used, but what threw me off about Adam;s car is that I didn't think that wheelie bars were allowed in the stock Eliminator class, but when I saw his car, it DID have a wheelie bar on it, and it definitely needed it that day. Otherwise, it would've been out of control right on the back bumper.

But either way, a real nice car to watch.

Hope all is well, I stumbled upon this thread and would like to set the record straight about some of the topics.

I took a temporary hiatus from Adam's shop prior to his passing, I was working out some Personal issues at the time which required time off, 2 weeks later I received the horrible news. One must understand that even with good friends there are periods of time where you may find yourself working out issues.

I did my best to help Adams family and friends through some of the hardship of losing a close friend and family member, we keep in touch to this day.

I sold my Camaro in Nov. of 07' which was almost 6 months later after loosing interest in racing. There is a lot more to life then racing, I give Adam credit for showing me that. The car is still being raced and is currently doing wheelstands in Australia the current owner loves it and enjoys it. I think the car is better off where it is then being stabled up in my garage and getting little use.

I'm doing alright now, I'm certainly not trying to be some junior wiseguy, but rather working in Finance as an analyst. My interest in watches was sparked by Adam, he was a life long rolex collector. I bought a similar watch to remind myself of the time spent with the landy's crew and cherished memories of a close friend.

Hope all is well with you guys, glad to see some great things happen like bob getting his chevelle back together (and wow that thing is moving), Rick's car is pretty wild to watch I saw it flying low at Englishtown a few months ago, and I hope all is well with the rest of you guys.

I just want you guys to know that any issues, rivalries or bad blood that I may have caused two years ago on this forum were superficial, I hope all is well with everyone on this board and I hope that you guys can find it in your hearts to understand the emotional issues of a man who lost a friend and mentor.

Regards
Brian

Thanks for chiming in Brian, and it's good to hear you're doing fine. You're always welcome here as far as I'm concerned, and I'm sure that most others here (if not all) would say the same thing. I'm sorry to hear that Adam's old car is no longer here in the states (that thing was just plain awesome to watch!!) but I'm sure that it now has a very satisfied owner who enjoys using it.

If you ever are still in touch with the car's new owner, then please tell him that we would want to see him here, and encourage him to stop by here, join, and post some videos of that great car in action. That thing was one of the most impressive cars that I've ever seen run at E-town.
