I want to replace the carb on my car to make starting easier. Presently I have a Barry Grant Holley, I think it's a 750 could be bigger not sure. This carb has no choke or a provision for a choke. I drive my car year round as long as there is no salt or snow. Starting is very difficult in cold weather and I have to race the engine to keep it running until it warms up. Once warm the carb performs flawlessly. I would like to replace it with one with an electric choke. What do you reccomend.
Thanks,
Fred

Fred-

Great question! I have the same set-up (Holley 750, 396ci) and would appreciate some advice from the guru's of the forum.

I wonder...is there an aftermarket choke kit available for this carb? Maybe the "old school" type with the long cable that you manually pull to open and close the choke from inside the car? I guess you have to be of a certain age to remember that set-up:D

I'll be watching this thread with you!

Fred your going to love the 770. Its easy to set up and the choke has the adjustment on the side. The idle screw for the choke is also nice. Its got three different vac springs to choose from. I wish I had known earlier. I just got my other 770 from Advanced Plating and pulled the 770 off thats in my sig. Now Iam going to put it in classified.
