My car has incorrect bucket seats, but they are buckets at least and I like how my rear feels in them so there's that at least.

I'd like to redo the upholstery and rear backs. They were redone at some point but the car was from Nevada and they are really sun beaten. Anyone know where these are from? Might not even be Chevelle for all I know but they must be A-body of some sort. The outter feet did line up with the existing holes.

You forgot to tell us what year your Chevelle is ? Are the seat backs metal or plastic ?
The seats are 67 or later because they have the push-button release on the side.
67's have metal backs and the later seats had plastic backs.

My car is a '72. FRom pictures I've seen, the dead giveaway with my seats is that the '72's would have the button on the back. The backs I have are plastic with no provision for a button.

My guess is your seats are for a 68 or 69. I have the same seats in my 67.
The backs on mine are plastic and they should be metal. They sell the metal backs/sides for about $150. I will just replace the backs with metal ones. My side pieces are in bad shape.

They’re either 67’s with metal back and aprons or 68’s with plastic backs and aprons. 64-65, 66, 69-72 are different animals. I know a guy was looking in our area if your upgrading.

Yes 67 or 68. However besides some minor differences with the seat backs they are basically the same from 67-68 so if the side button release doesn't bother you finding nice seats are expensive and can be a gamble too. I installed ACI foam and new springs and my seats are comfy. However looking at seat springs they are different between 67 and 68 and some one last week stated the frames are slightly different and maybe why the springs are different. Seat springs are the same from 68-72 so you will need to do your due diligence to make sure you can use them on your 72.

Maybe you should unbolt them and take a look inside for an old build sheet for the car that they came from.Might have been whoever swapped them in just picked them up and installed them in your car then didn't mess with what could be hidden inside.
Other than that they look like Olds or Pontiac seats to me.

69's don't have the seat release button on the side.

Already been said several times by others above- but they are 68 buckets with custom made covers.

Personally, In my opinion the 67/68 seats with the side release are way better than 69-72 "center of the back release" seats- But when you want to be year-correct, only correct will do.

66/67/68 are all one year only seats- so they are generally easy to sell, especially in decent condition like yours appear to be in... you should have no problem unloading them and picking up correct ones.

They don't appear to me to be factory covers for any a-body or b-body I've seen. Hints from several different models, but not quite.

They look to me to be tastefully well done custom covers.

That makes sense given I couldn't find the same pattern at any of the resto websites. Also, I was thinking they were sun faded, but the duller finish might just be the custom vinyl they may have used. Maybe to give it more of a real leather look? The vinyl itself is in great shape. No cracks or scuffs. I'm just going to replace the plastic seatbacks which do look original as they are really beaten up as shown below. I never sit in my backseat so I keep forgetting how bad they are until I fold them down.

Thanks everyone for the input.
