Im building a 383 stroker, I have everything exept heads and a cam
The question is on the cam, I want a cam that has a nice lope and good midrange power but I dont want to have to loose drivabilaty coming out of a stop. ( this will be my first V8 build so any and all info will be welcomed)
what would you guys recomend.

The car Is a factory 350/th350/10bolt rearend. its all factory 70 malibu.
I know its not much but Im just now starting the project.

There were many gear ratios used by the factory.

I'm going to suggust that you run some form of Voodoo.

268 comp XE or 268 voodoo you'll like'em. Lot of guys go to big. Big cams you got to get alot of extra crap to make it all workout and it (can be) a head ache to drive around town.

Sounds like a very good start. Like troutdog said stay with a small cam, keep duration under 228 and go with a 112 - 114 Lsa. this way you can retain a stock convertor and gears. One like this is what troutdog suggested.
