Ok, My Mallory 140 is on its last legs. Time to upgrade. I preffer to buy 100% American made products. This will feed a 1050cfm Holley 8082 carb atop my 505BBC. I have -8an to a bypass fuel psi regulator with -8 back to the cell. This is mainly a street driven car. What do guys suggest? What has done well for you? Who has good customer service? Do any of the TC vendors carry American made electric fuel pumps? I did a quick search of a few of the vendors and found CS3 carried some BG products. Lets hear it guys.:D

How many gallon tank? Personally my Aeromotive A1000 has served me very well. So well that I'm going to buy a new one and keep this one in the trailer as a spare. You already have a bypass regulator and adequate return line. I mounted mine in the trunk on the vibration mounts that a MSD 6AL box comes with and it is super quiet.

I've had an Aeromotive A1000 on my Vette for years. It's done numerous long road trips and runs down the track. Never a whimper from it. If it died tomorrow I'd buy another one!

Geez, I'd like to say Mallory went out of their way to help me but the truth is they never even returned the call. They have NO customer service so based on that fact I would choose another product. We have a little thing and it's called choices. No customer service you are no longer a choice. They are a subsidiary of Prestolite. Now we know.

So its 2 votes for the Aeromotive A1000.
Thank you for the input Rick, Jim, John, and Dan
John I have ran Holley Blue pumps in the past. My findings with them is they tend to leak in due time. Besides its too small of a pump for my needs.

I checked Aeromotives website and I do not see anywhere that the A1000 fuel pump is E85 friendly.

The Mallory 140 on the car now was on the chassis when I bought the car. I do not know how old it is. The brushes look in good shape. The commutator has a lot of wear though and I fear it needs replaced. It has good continuity but i'm no electric motor guru. I just figured rather than pour money into the Mallory 140 with a new comutator ( which I'm not certain is bad ), I could upgrade to a new more powerfull pump that is E85 friendly and gain some fuel supply capacity as a side benefit. Who knows maybe some day I'll throw some spray at this pig.

Carter eletric fuel pump are excellent pumps. They are very quiet, so quiet it's inside of my trunk and totally sealed. There is a HP version that put out 7psi. I used one and it lasted well over 12 years.

I had 2 A1000. Works well.

But i will also mention the pro-tuner 625 magnafuel. I thinks its a better pump.

But both will do the jobb for u. Unless you need more power than say 900. Then its tha magnafuel.

We are running 1 single 625 on our 850-900hp E85 streetcar. And 200 shot on that. with same pump. on E85... so it will support alot more on fuel.

The Mallory Comp 140 is a pretty good pump and will support a lot more HP than most give it credit for. Rebuild parts are available for relatively cheap.

Supports my N.A. SBC clunker just fine so far (LH lane). About 730 HP in it's past form

That being said, I'm in the process of adding about 150 HP to my N.A SBC and will be upgrading the pump. Will likely use Aeromotive, Magnafuel, or Product Engineering. All very good pumps. Magnafuel and PE are basically the same design.

A product is only as good as its customer support and Prestolite(mallory) is grossly lacking.

Dan,

I agree regarding customer support being important. I've traveled all over the world supporting my company's customers and have strung 3+ days together working in 3 different states without sleep as well to support customers. It's a weekly occurrence to put in 16-20 hours in a day at a customers location. Spent all morning on the phone with one of our technicians this morning troubleshooting an issue. Unfortunately, not all companies have people that will do that. A company is only as good it's people. A coworker of mine terms this the "Give a $hi% factor."

Sorry you had trouble.

I've been able to easily get part numbers and all information I've needed on the website below:

http://www.malloryperformance.com/pdf/110_140.pdf

Parts are readily available from Summit/Jegs etc. and even locally.

Thank you everyone for your input. The brands I have been considering are Weldon, Aeromotive, Magnafuel, and BG. I'm leaning towards the Weldon DB2025-A with a 14000 voltage controler but I am honestly having a real tough time getting the Wife / Boss / CFO getting with the program and thinking a 1grand upgrade to the fuel system is needed. I may have to just face the music and settle for the Aeromotive A1000 and deal with it later if and when I do switch to E85 with a power adder.
I am going to check out Product Engineering also. Another member gave them a good word.
Again thank you everyone for your input. Its much appreciated.
