Personally I like the purple tint with the silver diamond pattern from kragen
, just jokin. I really have never found any. They always, always, bubble up and peel. Cheap to have done at a shop, got mine done for 30 bucks a window (I think). But , if your going for the mufdvr (cheech and chongs impala license plate) look, then kragen is the way to go

I've tinted a few cars over the years and got good results with Gila tint. They offer different grades of scratch resistance, so buy the best they have. If not, you'll regret it! Been there, done that.

Some tint shops, also, will sell their tint by the foot. The quality is good, if you can find a shop that will do that.

Back windows are a bear, so read the instructions. I tinted the first few back windows 2-3 times before I got the hang of it.

Hope this helps.

Well guys, maybe I can help a little here cause I can ask the manufacturer since I work there. There is a trick, actually a few little tricks. If you're going to tint your back window you place the film on the outside of the glass with the tinted side down.Cut the tint to fit the outside of the glass.THEN you place the tint on the outside, tinted side down and heat it with a hair dryer so that it will conform to the shape of the glass.Clean the inside of your glass as clean as you can get it.Now spray a solution of water with just a little joy dish detergent in it on the glass.Peel the clear side of the tint away at the corners(a piece of tape on both sides and pull apart to get it to separate)at the top.You will need a squeegee or sponge to help now.Place the tint against the soapy glass(not too much on there or it will take forever to dry)and start to pull the clear off the tint while trying to keep the tint against the glass.Squeegee or sponge while you are doing this, this will help get the bubbles out. While the glass is still wet you can position the tint wherever it needs to be but you need to do this quickly and squeegee or rub the bubbles out before it dries. After you have the bubbles out( you will have bubbles, there is no way around this)you can lightly blow it with the hair dryer to dry it.If you still have a few bubbles you can cut them slightly and press it down to get rid of it.Most of the time it will take a couple tries to get it right so go to the junkyard and try this on an old door glass first. On door glass you need to trim around the edge at the weatherstrip.Practice this several times before you do it on a good window. You can also do this on your house glass too.
A little tip if you have it already installed and it looks like crap with the bubbles, take a piece of black plastic garbage bag and cut it to fit your glass.Wet the glass and tape the plastic to the tint and let it set for awhile in the hot sun.It should steam the old crappy tint off.

Tint has come a long way since it was first invented and todays tint can be really good. All our customers that install the tint(businesses)have to be certified by our own trainers because of what you guys have seen out there.Poor installation has give tint a bad rap and this is the reason for certification now.

I hope this helps.
If you have any questions I'll ask the experts here and give you the answers that I get.Email or post here,I'll try to check back as often as can.By the way we manufacture several tints but the only name I can think of at the moment is Gila.I'll post more names as I remember them.

i've added the costs of doing it yourself vs. having a pro do it, it's actually cheaper to have a pro do it. i paid $100 for all my windows at 20% and you can see out fine but people can't see in at all!! remember when they tell you $150.... everything is negotiable
