10.2/1 Should clarify this. I am running about 28-30* initial / 38* total. Have a 8* vac adv can. Motor was pinging on 92 octane with at lite throttle/high vac with the vac advance connected. There was notably less pinging with the AP3923 plugs (even though it did still ping). Currently have the vac advance disconnected. Timing comes in fast, so with the 3000 converter, figure the motor pretty much sees 38* timing at anything above idle. I think the thing with plugs is, if the ring seal is really good and the carb is set up correct, you shouldn't need as hot a plug. Dart only lists a 3933 for racing. Look at the Autolite site, the 3933 is significantly lower heat range than a 3923 or 3924.
