Wondering if anyone out there can help me narrow the wt of my 70 Elky down.

454 w/Aluminum hi rise, headers, iron WP,
2.5" ext set with 18" long case mufflers
th350, 12-bolt
Buckets
Weld ProStars 15x6 and 15x8 215/65/15 and 275/60/15
3/4 tank of fuel

My best estimation is about 3700 then my 220# for 3920# but really want to know what you calculate / or what yours actually weighs then adjust from there the differences in the car. I know the Aluminum intake, headers, and the WELDs drop a lotta wt off the listed value.

AUKAI's Chevelle comes in over 4100# but he has a lotta bolt-on and A/C IIRC

My best ET 12.78 and Best MPH 104.89 calculate out to 355-360 horse at the ground with wt of 3900. Not bad for a 8.8:1 recycled smogger engine. Will weigh the Elky next chance that I get.....

Mine weighed 4180 lbs at the track with a 1/2 tank of fuel and me. At the time I was 180, today it would weigh 4195 ;)

Paul,

Was that wt of the Elky or wt with me in it?

Philip,

Did you have the Lead Shot bags in the tailgate option? Damn, that is pretty heavy!

Steel wheels, buckets, console, sound deadener in doors and under carpet, small block TPI with iron heads and AC. Oh and a Gaylord fiberglass cover on the bed.

Trolling old posts and thought I'd bring this one back to the top. I took mine to the county transfer station to drop off a load of recycling on a sunny Saturday and just had them weigh me on entry. Free & easy!

Kevin,

Yes, trip to Doc's. Get a wt "with BBC parts in the back" and an "empty wt" too on his Roundy Round scales.

Prize for the closest guess.....

My Dads 72 sprint is 3700 lbs w/o driver. It has an all iron Sb/th700r4, A/c, steel wheels, steel hood, spair tire, jack, trailer hitch, sound deadner etc. I could see a BB elc comming in around 3600 with alum wheels, glass hood minus the a/c and spair tire hitch crap. Lol

I know the 65-67's are a good amount less. My 65 was 3500lbs w/me in the seat @185lbs. That was with a heavy dart iron headed 406, th350, moser 12bolt, mild steel cage, bench seat, heater etc. Had glass hood, and alum wheels.
