I'm going to be purchasing wheels to mount my slicks on. The front end of my car is a little on the heavy side. Would I be right by using steel wheels in the back to add weight or does it not matter because its rotational mass and I should go lightweight?

Rims are static weight so by going lighter on the rims you will effect overall performance but it will nothing for your 60 foot time. Rims have no effect on weight transfer.

Like was said, they will do nothing for weight transfer, however a steel wheel is rotating. So, wheel spin is less aggravated with a lighter wheel.

Absolutely! Less mass to accelerate = better performance potential. Steel wheels (i.e. stock rallys) are VERY heavy!
