Is it O.K. to plug the bypass hose on a BBC? The hose that goes from the front of the intake to the top of the water pump. I have a RPM Airgap and the hose is kinked.

Yes, I plugged mine. Looks nicer also. Drill a couple small holes in the T-stat plate and you fill be fine.

I have the same problem. I tried every combo of fittings (45*, 90*, straight) and nothing worked. I ended up buying an "S" hose form napa and cut it to fit, but it still looks like crap and I'm not sure it's going to hold. Someone told me it's the location of the hole in the water pump that's the problem, not the manifold. Don't know if that's true?

I went through the same thing last year. I plugged it, without the holes in the T-statt. I had a problem with my T-stat not opening. I came to realize that there was air getting caught in the system and fouling it up. So I put the hose back on. Looks terrible, but it serves a purpose.

Drill the holes, and fill the block up with coolant before you put the T-stat in (so fill through the hole that the stat goes in). That should make it fine to run without the bypass.
