I've been installing vinyl floor covering in my '69 to make it more like an original 300 Deluxe. The stuff I have is thick and stiff and a real pain to fit and trim. I have seen advice given many times to lay new seat upholstery, carpet, head liners, etc., in the sun to warm them and make softer, more stretchable, etc. Well that's not always possible, esp on cloudy or cold days. I put the vinyl inside the car with a small 110v space heater also inside, closed the windows, and warmed the interior up to around 100 deg with the heater. It really softened the stuff up and made it easier to install.

I'm sure BB Dave would have some tips on how to warm the upholstery after it's installed.
