Depends on how you want to do it. You can grab and after-market shifter for under $200 knock the shift lever off the column. The other end of the spectrum is to change out the column, the PRNDL indicator on you dash cluster and add a factory shifter and even a console -- all of which will put you well north of a grand.

i am doing this right now too.

but, i still am trying to find out what year camaros or TA's steering columns will work as a bolt in on the chevelle.
SO, if anyone knows please let me know. i am on a tight budget so buying a repro or aftermarket one is out of the question.

Also right now B&M is selling the black diamond floor shifter for like 60% off ($195 vs. $455), i bought one last night, it's so freaking cool!!!

I was reading on here yesterday... Up to 1977. I think 1978 and up use a different shaft (two flats versus splined)...

But thats all I know...
