I've got a one wire alt. I don't want to run the wire directly to the batt., because I want the least amount of wires showing, My question is can I run it down along the block and to the starter, (which terminal) and have no problems. thanks guys

You could hook it to the BIG terminal at the starter... it's probably better to hook it to the battery for less losses, but I don't know why it wouldn't work hooked in at the starter.

Cliff,
Hate sound like a broken record but, you may want to read the tech article on www.madelectrical.com/shtml that deals with conversions and routing of wires and their effect on charging systems. There's some good insight into where you should connect the battery charging lead from the alternator for best/most reliable performance. Chevy engineered these systems by taking into account the connection location and length of this wire.
