I'm in the beginning stages of building a BBC for my 70 chevelle and I'm not sure which route to take on the Carb. Here's my combo so far:

454 .030 over
lunati 60204 Cam
TH 350 trans (for now will be replace with another auto trans)
2500-2700 torque conv. (Still undecided)
12 bolt with 3.42's
Considering Holley 800/850DP or similiar VS carb.

car is mostly a street car with an occaisional trip to the track with friends. All out performance isn't number one priority but neither is fuel economy as the car isn't driven much. I've read some other posts that suggest I'm kind of in the middle and could go either way...is this true?

I had a 650DP on a 406SB and hated it, the thing kept going out of adjustment.

Try both - each motor responds differently.
