Hey Guys;
I'm wondering if it's okay to run the power wire from my new Autometer voltmeter to my alternator. I know the instructions say to run it to a switched power source, but I ran it to the alternator, and it shows a constant 12 volts until I start the car, when it shows 14 volts.

Is this safe?

Thanks, Mark S.
:rolleyes:

The only problem I can think of is if the car sits for a long period it will drain your battery. That's the reason for having a switched reference source.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the info. BTW, very nice El Camino. Mine's a '71, with a 502, Pewter Metallic.

Thanks,
Mark S
