voltage regulator adjustments

905 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  John_Muha
I recently installed a high output alternator and new external regulator. The amps look fine on my car, but it looks like I'm seeing way too much voltage. Is there any adustment possible on the mechanical external regulator, or do I need a transistor regulator?
TIA

Yes. See charging system section in a chevrolet chassis service manual for your year for voltage adjustment procedure.

Solid state regulators are cheap. The one I bought from JC W worked just fine with my STOCK alternator. Good luck.
