VIN and cowl tag question

I was wondering I just look at a Malibu to buy and it had a 135 vin on the door jamb, the only ting that disturbed me is that it has a 136 on the cowl tag. Do you guys think that somebody played a tag switch on it or what? The vin still has the original rivets from what I could tell. By the way it a convertible. Any help would be appreciated.

You should post this in the 'Tag Team' forum, as it will get more attention there than it will here in the 'Convertibles' forum.....very little traffic here. Perhaps if you send a PM to the moderator, they can move it to the Tag Team forum.
