I was wondering I just look at a Malibu to buy and it had a 135 vin on the door jamb, the only ting that disturbed me is that it has a 136 on the cowl tag. Do you guys think that somebody played a tag switch on it or what? The vin still has the original rivets from what I could tell. By the way it a convertible. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 1965 Malibu SS convertible 6 cyl. with a VIN starting with 137 and the trim tag starting with 138. It sounds like you're describing a Malibu 6 cyl. convertible. Don't take my word for it though. There are many others that are well versed in this area and can tell you for sure. BTW what size engine is in it?

I had a 69 Malibu 6 cylinder car. The VIN plate read 135379B1XXXXX, the cowl tag read 13637. I picked the car up from the original owner and it had been parked since 1985.
