I was offered this 72 Chevelle Malibu for $10K including an open car haulier. All i know about the car is it has a 383 stroker, old school SN series Paxton Supercharger, NOS, 4.11 rear-end turbo 350 trans mission. Good car for price?

YES! Get it!
Could sell the car hauler for $1,500 probably, maybe more if it's nice.

New stance and wheels/ tires and that's a totally different car.
Love the slapper bars.... but would have to ditch those...

Thanks Guys

He gave me until October to decide. The only reason he is selling the car is because it has no AC and the fact that the turbo 350 has no over drive the RPM are way up there with the 4.11 rear-end.

Any one have suggestions on putting in a 3.73 or a 700Rw overdrive.

The price for me of $10K with the top cat hauler is only for me. $15K for is friend(no trailer included) and $20K(no trailer included) for anyone else.

Thanks

If this were my post it would have read "Look at what I bought for 10,000 dollars". Nice car, i like the old school look.

I can't believe so many say jump on it without knowing the condition. A used open car trailer can be had for $1000 or so. New open trailers can be had for $2500.

Unless that 72 Malibu is worth 9-10k alone it's not a crazy good deal. What if the car is hacked together full of mud ? I see lots of cars in this section that guys say are only worth 5k or whatever. It looks good in the pics. Trunk LOOKS solid. If car is solid it is a good deal.

I am on a cell phone do I can't see the pics all that well...just FYI

I don't think a 3.73 will drop your cruise RPM enough to be worth doing a gear swap but a replacement 200R4 or a 700R would be an easy upgrade.A gears vendor overdrive unit would be a good alternative too.

@Tod74- Its really solid car all the way around. 0 rust, not wires on top of wires or any sloppy jobs. Has not seen snow or rain in the last 10 years. If i head back up there this weekend I'll take pictures of underneath as well.

@SleeperBBC yes I did get to drive it and its scary fast, fires right up and does not miss a beat. I hammered down on it on Route 2 in Byron and a builder flagged me down and said he heard me whining coming down the road and recommend overdrive trans or a gear change.

@71350SS Thanks! I'll research the 200R4 as well. Another guy also said a 3.73 probably would not work maybe a 3.55. Since it has SB the 200R4 or the 700 should go right up correct?

Thank you everyone for all replys!

@MrRoss72, I had a 71 Chevelle with a 383 stroker, 4.11 rear and a 700r4 and it ran beautiful on the fwy the overdrive really helps, however mine didn't have that supercharger.

I beleive the 700r4 will bolt right up but you have to shorten the dirveshaft, the 200r4 bolts right up with no other mods needed. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

Good luck witht he deal!
