Yes, but dont overtorque and pinch them needles. was told to just seat the lock washers, snug by Denny. Overtorque common, and not good.

Smitty, I cant tell if that's a bit of galling there or if it was simply machined that way. Any evidence on the ujoint itself?

Personally, I think that's just from the method of manufacturing. They probably broached the whole thing, then come back in with a cutter to cut the U-joint legth dimension in front of the stop tab. Looks like they're cutting the whole diameter, where if you look at some of the other pictures posted, the design is a little different and it looks like those guys just come in with a small cutter and touch locally in front of the tab. I really don't think you have an issue to worry about.
