If it's twisted it would be the first one I have seen.

if it is in fact twisted, i would definitely replace it. you could end up with some funky engagement/disengagement problems, plus it might fail at some point.

i would probably go through the trans as well. it definitely would take a real beating to twist an input shaft, so the trans probably should be inspected and rebuilt.
