Got a friend who is going to build a 1970 Chevelle SS Convertible
With an after market frame he has been looking at the Schwartz and the RS Roadster shop frame.
We would like to hear pros and cons on both. And if someone bought one can you tell us you experience with it

Schwartz 15k to 19K depending on options
http://gmachinechassis.com/

The Roadster Shop 17k to 22K depending on options http://rsperformanceconcepts.com/products/chassis/chevelle/

This car will have twin turbo LS motor and the best parts possible.
Can some one help us with pricing we need a lot of stuff. We were looking at the Nelson racing turbo headers and that cool manifold.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I have a bare Schwartz chassis. I haven't jumped into it yet, but the quality is top notch. Seeing more cars get completed with these new chassis will keep making them more popular.

Dealing with Scwartz is a breeze- they simply do what they say they'll do.

I'm glad I have one and I am looking forward to getting it all together, but I can't offer you on-road experience yet. I really dig the look of that blue Chevelle pictured on the link, though.

Mine is headed under my '65 LeMans.

i have the 1st roadster shop 68-72 chassis. i am building a 69 conv. 565 alum.BBC twin turbo car right now.we only had a few small issues so far with the roadster shop chassis.it is an excellant piece of work and is plenty rigged enough for a conv. i looked at the schartz chassis at chevy vette fest,i myself don't think they compare.if you friend want to talk about the RS chassis let me know and i will leave you a contact #. i also am using Nelson on the twin turbo setup and the billet intake.it is a few month behind schedule.i can give you all the details

i have been looking at the roadster shop chassis for a while now and saw one at the good guys show here in nashville a couple weeks ago.the chassis itself is a work of art absolutely amazing but it is very expensive as well.the schwartz chassis is pretty nice also and seems much more affordable.according to the super chevy article it is 12 grand for a rolling chassis with 18 inch wheels and tires.the roadster shop chassis is 22 grand and that does not come with wheels so you are looking at another 2-3 grand for that.i think i would go with the schwartz chassis.just my opinion

I talked to Mark at SC&C a little bit about that Roadster shop frame...the yellow one right? He had alot of knowledge about it. Might be worth giving him a call and picking his brain about it. For somebody that deals with tons of suspension all day every day, he wasn't too impressed with it. I'm sure he will give you a little bit more in depth reasoning though. :)

If any of these project have websites for their builds, I'd sure like to see them. I can't find a twin turbo big block that still has inner fenders to save my life. Mine will, but I don't need to be the first! :)

Hi, I have a 70 chevelle with a schwartz chassis but they are not made by Jeff . They are made by muscleup perf. of Janesville Wis. and depending on if you've seen a new or old frame theres a big change in how they where making them. IMO it is very nice and well done. And as sed before to another member if you do you homework you can save alot of money! My car is not done yet but I'm hoping to drive it this summer? A big tip get a lefthander chassis catolog{stockcar parts} that will help to find what your going to need. And if you call muscleup talk to Ahron. they have a web site.
