Just got my 71 Conv. Was apart for paint. When I put the brake light switch back on to drive, the turn signal lights come on, not flasing, just steady. And turn sigs do not work. Wires appear to be discolored. how do I stop and get signals to work?

Is it the lights on the dash that are coming on? Does pulling the headlights on at the same time make them go out? Guess would be that you lost a ground to one of the outside lamps. Check the rear one in the trunk as a first step.

Agree with John..sounds like backfeed problem due to a poor ground.
